The Bride:
Jamie Lynn Johnson was born on December 26, 1975 in Fullerton, California to her parents Chris and Jane. Her sister April followed a short time later in April 1977. Throughout their childhood years they traveled extensively in the US and abroad as a result of Chris‘s employment in the Golf Course industry. Jamie, April, Dad Chris and step-mom Sandy had many adventures in places like Hawaii, Singapore, Thailand and India. The lifestyle left Jamie with a lifetime urge to travel and see new places. When Jamie was in high school they returned to her homeland of California where the Johnson family is still based. Jamie’s travels after school landed her in Colorado with a budding career in the mortgage industry. She enjoyed her twenty-something years in Denver where she made some life- long friends and fond memories. She will always consider The Mile High City a home. In late 2005 her employer allowed her to transfer life and job to southern California (by way of Kansas City for a year) where she met Mike in early 2007. Today, she enjoys her job as the Operations Manager of the Real Estate Investment firm, The Helvetica Group. Outside the office she likes to spend her time with Mike and friends, traveling, live concerts, photography / scrapbooking, yoga / exercising and she aspires to match her Mom and sisters cooking and baking skills. Jamie lives and works in Encinitas, California with Mike and is thrilled to become part of the Richardson Family in 2010.

The Groom:
Mike Richardson was born on June 2nd, 1973 in Amarillo Texas and his parents, Jim and Beckye Richardson have never been able to fully recover. He left Amarillo with the family at 12 years old to Brandon, Mississippi when his Dad was transferred by Levi Strauss. As if prayers were answered on the last day of school and the day before his 13th birthday he was rescued from Mississippi by the great Levi Strauss who moved the family to Hebron, Kentucky. He lived in Kentucky through high school and a few years after graduation until Levi once again moved them to Conway, Arkansas where Mike remained for several years after the family moved back to Texas. One day he woke up and looked around and said to himself... "What the hell am I doing here? I have an Aunt in California!" He spent a month in Dallas before making the trip out west, and that was over 10 years ago. As a self proclaimed “computer geek” Mike nurtured his computer and engineering talents into his business as an outsource Network Administrator Consultant for local San Diego small businesses. Mike is a musician and plays Mandolin in the Bluegrass band “Driftwood“. He is also a pilot and enjoys his time in the air and at the flight club. Mike lives with Jamie and his 16 year old American Eskimo Cidney in Encinitas.

How We Met:
Jamie and Mike met through mutual friends in Carlsbad, California on a January day in 2007. Jamie’s friend Allyson lived next door to Mike’s friends Kara and Rosy (Mike’s Driftwood Band mate) in a costal apartment building. They both ended up at Kara’s birthday party at a restaurant and the sparks started flying. They exchanged some messages on “myspace” and soon planned for a flying date to Temecula. Jamie knew it was serous when Mike meticulously planned their first Valentines date, a sunset flight to Santa Barbara for a candlelight Italian dinner. The rest is history. They decided to move in together several months later during an airport layover after a Mothers Day visit to Waxahachie, Texas.

The Proposal:
It was an ordinary Wednesday morning, or at least it started that way. Mike called Jamie at work and said that he was close by and ran out of gas, asking if she could come and meet him. She asked a few co-workers if they had a gas can before heading out the door. She met him at a scenic overlook in Cardiff and did not even notice the beautiful ocean view as he waved her out of the car. When she walked up to him, he pulled out a bunch of flowers and the ring then got down on one knee and "popped the question". After a few "are you serious?!" squeals and through her tears, Jamie gave him the answer. "Yes"!.

Future Plans:
Mike and Jamie plan to stay in Encinitas and pursue their respective careers. Mike will continue to grow his computer networking business, NCCNS and get up to fly whenever he gets the chance. Jamie’s employer is also growing and will require her time and energy over the next couple of years. They will be working towards buying a home after the wedding. Jamie will have eyes out for a good deal in the surrounding areas. Kids have been spoken of and are loosely planned for the future.
